Driven By Purpose Award Winner – Heather Weiss, PT, DPT

The Driven By Purpose Award is an award given to a RRI team member who exhibits our company’s purpose statement, Leading With Talent, into their interactions with patients, customers, and other team members.

Heather joined our team in September of 2021 and she hit the ground running! Heather is one of our strongest “utility players”; she succeeds in any environment and is willing to do whatever we need her to do. She is currently working in an outpatient setting, but also filled in at various skilled nursing facilities during the height of Covid. No matter the placement, our customers rave about Heather’s work ethic, dependability, and professionalism. Thanks for all that you do, Heather! Check out our interview with Heather below to learn a little more about her.

Tell us a little about yourself?

I grew up in Cincinnati with 3 siblings, one of which is my identical twin. I attended the University of Cincinnati where I earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and later on my DPT. Before becoming a PT I worked in a research lab studying food allergies. I am married to my high school sweetheart, 10 years ago we moved to Lebanon to be away from busyness of the city. We now have 2 children and a dog. We enjoy boating and camping.

Before working for RRI, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I worked in a lab that cultured skin to make grafts for children with burns.

Best vacation spot you’ve been to?

Grand Cayman

Describe what you were like at age 10?

At age 10 I was a pretty quiet kid (that’s what happens when you have twin sister that likes to talk). I enjoyed reading and playing soccer. My favorite part of the year though was summer when we would stay with our grandparents on their farm near Lake Michigan.

What aspect of being a physical therapist do you like the most?

I like being able to improve a someone’s quality of life.

What do you love about working for RRI?

I love the variety of settings that I have gotten to work in. It has definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed to grow my skill set

What is one thing on your bucket list?

Travelling to Europe.
