Legos – More than just a kids toy!
Occupational therapists – Are you tired of doing the same old, same old rehabilitation activities with your patients? Are your patients tired of doing the same old activities also? Try mixing it up with an oldie but a goodie sure to bring a smile to your patient’s face with (hopefully) fond memories of times long past.
What oldie but goodie, you may be thinking? Well Lego’s, of course! This fun activity isn’t just for children (although it has many health benefits for them also). Integrating Lego’s into your therapy session is a great way to work on not just fine motor strength and coordinations skills, but also cognition! Keep in mind that they have multiple bricks sizes for all physical levels, as well as building tasks with increasingly difficult directions. Click here for more information from AOTA!
